A fresh install from the ShutterLab team — full-height shutters in waterproof composite for a home in Twickenham.
These are full-height panels with a hidden split: the louvres cover the whole window in one clean sweep, but the top and bottom still tilt independently. No mid-rail breaking the lines. Close the lower half for privacy, leave the top open for daylight — the same idea as split louvres, without the visual break.
Why a hidden split
A standard mid-rail is useful, but it cuts the window in two. A hidden split keeps that independent top-and-bottom control while the louvres read as one tall set. On this Twickenham job you can see it clearly: upper slats open for light, lower slats set differently for privacy, with no bar across the glass.
Why composite
The material here is waterproof composite (often called polymer in the trade). It holds a crisp white finish, will not warp in humid rooms, and wipes clean. For busy family windows that see daily use, it is a practical, long-lasting choice — still made to measure, still fitted by our own team.
